Pricing, limits & extras
The public page renders dollar quotes and introductory discounts, but no explicit currency code was exposed in the reviewed page. These quotes are retained as observations, not normalized to USD or used by the cost calculator.
Dollar quotes are visible, but their currency code was not established. Excluded from the USD calculator.
- Observed public quotes
- Starter: $6.26 for the first month, then displayed regular price $7.83. Advanced: $15.48, then $19.35. Pro: $33.81, then $48.30. The page labels the discounts as one month. Currency, regional offer and checkout remain unverified. [1]
- Usage boundaries
- The page distinguishes a context window, monthly credits and extra daily credits, and qualifies “unlimited” access with an asterisk. We have not established every model’s usage rules. [1]
- Free access
- The roleplay landing page advertises a free tier. A current numerical quota has not been established. [2]

Reasons to investigate
- An editor for plot, setting, characters, locations and objects
- A conversational wizard offers an alternative creation workflow
- Scenario files can be shared without publishing to the public gallery
Keep in mind
- Scenario export does not establish universal character-card compatibility
- Reference history is different from tested automatic recall
- The public dollar quote does not explicitly identify a currency code
What is DreamGen?
DreamGen organizes roleplay around scenarios. Its official documentation presents two creation paths: a form-based editor for explicitly defined elements, and a conversational wizard for developing ideas with an assistant. A scenario can then be used for a story or a roleplay.
We would investigate it for a project where the setting and cast matter as much as one companion. Decide whether you want to specify the scene precisely or develop it through conversation. Both approaches still need a coherent premise that you can evaluate.
Characters inside a reusable world
The editor describes separate plot, setting, style, history, character, location and object elements. The public roleplay page describes scenarios with multiple characters and controls for directing what happens. This is broader than a single character’s greeting and short profile.
For a first project, use a setting with two characters who need different outcomes. Add only the world facts that affect that conflict. A written history gives the model reference context; it does not prove that every turn of a long story remains available or is recalled correctly.
Private drafts, export and public versions
The publishing guide says new scenarios are private by default. It describes exporting a scenario file so another person can import and use it privately. Public listed and unlisted versions are separate from the working draft, and publication requires review.
This is useful if you want to share a reusable scene without immediately putting it in a public gallery. The documented export is a DreamGen scenario workflow; we have not tested whether its characters can round-trip through other card formats. Public visibility also says nothing by itself about how a provider processes stored data.
Plans and what remains untested
The roleplay page advertises a free tier. The public pricing page lists Starter, Advanced and Pro, with introductory discounts, context limits, monthly credits and extra daily credits. The rendered quote uses a dollar sign without an explicit currency code, so it is excluded from our USD cost calculator.
A plan’s context window and credit balance describe different constraints. Before subscribing, confirm the currency, first charge, renewal and which models consume credits. Character consistency, voice, generated-image allowances and the actual free quota remain untested here.
Creating a character
Use the official guide for the current interface. These notes outline the documented workflow or the checks to make before choosing access.
- Choose the Scenario Editor for explicit fields or the Wizard for conversational creation.
- Define a premise and a small cast, then add the setting and relevant reference history.
- Start a short roleplay and evaluate the controls for directing the scene.
- Keep the draft private or review the documented file-sharing and publishing options.
Common questions
Can DreamGen support several characters?
Yes. Its official roleplay page describes multi-character scenarios. We have not benchmarked how characters coordinate during a long scene.
Can I export a DreamGen scenario?
The publishing guide describes exporting a file for private sharing and importing. We have not tested cross-platform character-card compatibility.
Why is DreamGen now documented?
We checked primary scenario-creation and publishing documentation on October 3, 2026. The guide describes documented controls; it is not an account-level performance review.
