Reasons to investigate
- Character-card metadata and response instructions are separated
- Character Books and Lorebooks provide keyword-triggered context
- Model connection options are described in primary documentation
Keep in mind
- A hosted creator and model inference can have separate access requirements
- Connecting a local model does not establish a locally installed Chub interface
- Current model prices, character export and voice access remain unchecked
What is Chub AI?
Chub provides a hosted character creator and chat workflow. The creation guide begins with an account, then separates the information used to display the card from its definition. Description, initial message, scenario and example dialogue shape the role; the creator’s note and discovery tags serve a different purpose.
This distinction helps when a character looks well presented but behaves differently from the intended brief. Review the instructions sent to the model before rewriting the public card. We have not completed an account-level creation or conversation test.
Giving the character reference context
Lorebook entries insert associated information when their keywords are found. A Lorebook attached to a character is called a Character Book. Scan depth and token budget affect when entries are found and how much context can be included.
That makes a concrete evaluation possible: create one location entry, mention its keyword in a short scene and check whether the expected detail appears. Separate a failed trigger from a model ignoring supplied context. The existence of a Character Book does not establish unlimited memory.
The model connection changes the total cost
The connection guide describes hosted model subscriptions, third-party API access and connections to locally hosted models. These options have different setup and cost boundaries. We have not revalidated the model list or subscription amounts against a current billing screen.
For a comparison with SillyTavern, the first distinction is where the interface runs. Chub’s creator is hosted, while SillyTavern is locally installed. Both can involve a separately configured model. Keep the character brief and model choice consistent if you want to isolate the effect of the interface.
Creating a character
Use the official guide for the current interface. These notes outline the documented workflow or the checks to make before choosing access.
- Register and open Create Character as described in the official guide.
- Write the description and initial message, then add a scenario or dialogue examples.
- Choose visibility and attach a Character Book if the project needs reference lore.
- Review the model connection and its billing separately before starting a longer chat.
Common questions
Does Chub require an account to create characters?
The reviewed creation guide starts with registration and sign-in.
Are Chub Character Books automatic memory?
They supply reference information through keyword-triggered entries. That is different from a tested guarantee of automatic conversation recall.
Does Chub support a local model?
The connection guide describes local-model connections. This does not establish that the hosted Chub interface itself runs locally.
Chub AI alternatives to explore
Different workflows are useful comparison points. These are related platforms, rather than a tested ranking.
Public characters to explore
A sourced selection of 9 profiles. Descriptions come from public pages; conversations have not been tested. Activity counts are dated snapshots, not a quality score.
Isekai RPG
A community-made fantasy RPG card built around an isekai premise and choosing a starting power.
Why this character
A recognizable adventure setup with dated public counters. The author’s own warning makes it useful for understanding why activity alone cannot establish quality.
The author calls this an early, imperfect card, links to an alternative and only claims compatibility with Claude. That compatibility has not been tested by Atlas.
modern life RPG
An open-ended present-day roleplay setting that lets you choose a career, business or other fictional life.
Why this character
Offers a contrast to fantasy worlds: the user supplies the goal and boundaries for an everyday setting.
The public introduction also allows violent fictional scenarios. A peaceful premise is your own constraint, not a platform content guarantee. The author describes this as a first character.
Dungeon Core Simulator
A fantasy simulation in which you design and manage a dungeon, with creator-described resources, events and gossip.
Why this character
Changes the player’s role from adventurer to world manager, making resources and continuity useful things to check in a trial scene.
The creator recommends GPT-4 and also mentions Claude. Resource tracking and model compatibility are creator claims, not Atlas test results. The premise can include fictional violence.
Empty Space Sandbox
A freeform sandbox for inventing objects, characters and entire worlds, starting from an empty space.
Why this character
Makes the difference between an open sandbox and a structured adventure easy to see: you supply the limits and the reason to act.
Anonymous is the source’s publication label, not a verified personal identity. The author describes a small prompt; Atlas has not measured the context used by a running chat.
Cricket
An original fantasy character who runs a one-person adventuring agency, with a comedy-focused premise.
Why this character
A specific occupation and tone give this individual persona a clear contrast to the setting-wide RPG cards.
The author says agency scenario details were moved to a character lorebook. Check that attachment in your chosen setup; merely opening the profile does not establish that it is active.
Yes My Liege
An open-world fantasy card that puts you in the role of a ruler acting for a kingdom.
Why this character
Changes the player role from individual adventurer to decision-maker. It is a useful starting point for checking whether a narrator keeps several public goals and consequences separate.
The author describes multiple greetings and says the expanded content is in a v2 card with an embedded lorebook. Check its attachment in your chosen setup; Atlas has not imported it or tested continuity.

Try a starting scene
ORIGINAL ATLAS EXERCISE · UNTESTEDFor this invented scene, I rule a small coastal kingdom. We have twenty grain crates and two ships. Describe two peaceful responses to a damaged harbor, each with a different cost. Keep the starting resources unchanged and wait for my decision.
What to look for. The two options have different consequences, the narrator leaves the decision to you and any later resource change has an explicit cause.
The Kingdoms Finest
A dark-fantasy ensemble in which a group of warriors confronts a retired, powerful antagonist played by the user.
Why this character
Offers the opposing role to a conventional hero adventure. The author notes also expose a useful source inconsistency about the size of the group.
The introduction promotes intimidation and terror. Its premise mentions 1,000 warriors while a later update describes changing the legion from 30 to 100. Atlas has not resolved that discrepancy or tested the stated model compatibility.

Try a starting scene
ORIGINAL ATLAS EXERCISE · UNTESTEDAdapt this fictional encounter into a nonviolent negotiation. I am a retired ruler offering the visiting warriors safe passage and a hearing. For this trial, agree that there are ten delegates. Let one speak, preserve that agreed number and leave my reply to me.
What to look for. The narrator honors the nonviolent adaptation and agreed group size, distinguishes an offer from an accepted deal and does not choose your response.
ReZero Adventure
A community adventure inspired by Re:Zero, inviting you to take the protagonist’s place and explore Lugnica.
Why this character
Illustrates how a world narrator can depend on several companion cards instead of containing every system in one profile.
The author recommends companion cards for user stats, party stats and threats, plus a lorebook. Those attachments and linked prompts were not opened. This is a community interpretation; canon accuracy and model compatibility are untested.

Try a starting scene
ORIGINAL ATLAS EXERCISE · UNTESTEDFor this original travel scene in Lugnica, I am an adult visitor with a notebook, a cloak and twelve coins. Describe a quiet market and one person who can explain the town. Use only the information I have supplied, then wait for my question. Do not invent a stat tracker.
What to look for. The narrator preserves the supplied inventory and player choice. Record whether missing systems come from an unattached companion card rather than assuming a complete setup.
Touhou Grand Gensokyo Adventure
A community Touhou adventure with a creator-described statsheet, reputation and alignment system.
Why this character
The author’s explicit account of continuity problems gives a concrete reason to inspect state tracking rather than treating a long feature list as proof.
The author reports incorrect stat updates, misplaced characters and repeated starts, and describes testing an older 16k Turbo setup. Those are creator reports, not current Atlas findings. Optional external prompts were not opened; canon accuracy is untested.
Found in Popularity catalogue · public profile individually reviewed · 4 Oct 2026.
Try a starting scene
ORIGINAL ATLAS EXERCISE · UNTESTEDBegin an invented peaceful visit to a village in Gensokyo. I am an adult outsider with a basket and five coins. For this trial my reputation is neutral and I have no assigned objective. Describe one observable event and wait. Do not change reputation until a stated action justifies it.
What to look for. The narrator respects the chosen starting location and neutral state, waits for your action and can explain any later change in the statsheet.
